- As we approach the December Solstice, the season changes – most of the week was dry but we had a front roll into the region:
- Some heavy downpours over the weekend accumulated 57,2 mm (2 1/4 inches) of rainfall.
- Minimum air temperature remained at 22,6°C (72,7°F)
- The average air temperature rose significantly to 28°C (82,3°F)
- Soil temperature also rose to 28,1°C (81,9°F)
- Solar radiation varied from moderate to high with a slight risk of sunburn and “corky fruit”
- Relative humidity dropped to 81.9%
- All good husbandry practices are performed on a timely basis
- We have a good inventory of prepared land ready to plant so we expect limited delays in our scheduled planting
- All quality parameters are at good levels except for the external color which we feel can improve
- A positive increase in demand is reported as the Holidays approach
- New Covid cases continue to decrease at the national level (-19%) drop reported this week.
- Our farms are Covid 19 free at this time thanks to an aggressive vaccination program and strict protocols being followed.
