It’s safe to say that October has been our favorite month the year! After all the unsteady and sporadic weather patterns during prior months, October ended up being a rather hot and dry month that allowed us to advance agricultural practices that had been delayed.
Beginning in Weeks 43 the farms began to reduce harvest age and the percent harvested at 20 WAF was about 33 percent. Now, into Week 44, 82 percent of our fruit is harvested between 20 and 21 WAF. Given the present weather pattern we may even reduce age more.
Overall, fruit quality continues at very acceptable levels. Volume has started to increase and seasonal demand into the holidays is being felt after a long period of limited volumes. Want to know how November’s weather might fare? Click here to receive this week’s full industry report and find out!
