Drum roll please…we are finally back to normal! Mostly hot and sunny days, very little precipitation followed into Week 15 and minimum air temperatures continued to increase.
Recovery from the previous weeks had finally begun to show in many of our reported quality measures. Among them recovery in flesh color was seen this week, with pale yellow to yellow pulp as the dominant color. Translucency and firmness are again beginning to appear at near perfect levels and flavor and aroma are stabilizing.
As was expected, the vast majority of our fruit (92%) was harvested at 22 WAF with expected, normal levels – a sign that the slight deterioration experienced during last week’s reporting was in fact a temporary outcome caused by the holiday’s preemptive harvest schedules.
May is soon approaching and – as we’ve reported – large volume production is on the way. Need to find out exactly how much for strategizing promotions during the coming weeks? Want more info? Click here to join our mailing list and receive each week’s full industry report.
