As expected, last week’s predicted tropical wave arrived – and with quite a bang. Week 32’s torrential rains accumulated 322,4 mm (12,7 inches) as a result of the storm that came through. Flooding in low-lying areas of the Northern and Caribbean coastal zone were reported, but with minor long-term consequences. However, because of the heavy downpours our farms were practically paralyzed in their agricultural work.
Due to the low solar intensity received during the week (no sunlight was seen for nearly five days), combined with the abundant rains, we are beginning to see setback in some of our quality parameters. Needless to say, a change in climatic conditions is more than welcome. What does the weather agency predict moving forward? Click here to receive this week’s full industry report and find out!
