IMPORTANT BRIEF: Weather conditions have not improved, but instead have worsened since our last update. In fact, flooding in the lowlands has become so severe that the government has declared a national state of emergency. Our region has experienced nine inches of rainfall this week alone.
Yet, while many areas are receiving major damage to infrastructure such as bridges and roads, our location close to the port has worked in our favor. The specific route used from our farms to the port’s access route has not been interrupted. However, long term effects of existing conditions, if the weather does not improve, will include running out of prepared land to plant new fields and creating a volume gap in the months to come.
