Torrential downpours continue across the coastal plain regions, resulting in an accumulated 228.7 mm (9 inches) of rainfall during week 21. While the almost daily showers can impact farmers and require some change to practices, we remain positive. Better the rainfall on the plains and not in the mountains – as this would cause rivers to flood adjacent areas. Naturally, we’re keeping a Costa Rican attitude!
On that note, it’s important to point out to our customers that eating quality of the fruit remains unaffected by the climatic conditions. We are reporting some variability among fruit aroma, but overall sweetness levels remain outstanding.
