Climatic conditions have finally stabilized!
With extremely limited precipitation reported this week (just about one inch – or 23 mm – of rainfall), it appears that our farms are experiencing a long overdue break in unfavorable weather patterns.
The average temperature remains slightly under ideal measurements, but as daily low and high temperatures continue to increase in the right direction, we aren’t concerned. In fact, it’s safe for us to officially say – we’re out of the woods and entering the dry season! NDF is no longer expected on plants moving forward and farm procedures are returning to their routine schedules.
However, as we approach the new season, the transitional period will require overtime hours on the field marking those plants that were affected by the winter storms earlier this year. Once this inventory work is complete, we will have better production estimates that come as a result of the cold fronts.
