Less winds, higher air temperatures and a drop in weekend rains mean overall slightly better weather conditions. While not at the level we would hope for, the small positive changes have been reflected in the maintained quality of fruit.
This week saw very stable internal flesh firmness, a reduction in sampling with very high brix and most importantly – a steady recording of Perfect Pineapple™ standards when it came to flavor and aroma.
With the winds subsiding, we hope that downtime at port loading will subside this following week. We will continue to strategize in producing as much supply as possible, but due to weather conditions expect limited supply in Costa Rica to continue into mid-February.
