If there’s anything to take away from our farm reports in 2014, it would be the unbelievably high recordings of precipitation that we collected this year. Nearly 4,000 mm (157.5 inches) of accumulated rainfall fell on our farms these past twelve months. Even more striking is its comparison with the previous year – 2014 brought nearly double the accumulated precipitation than 2013 overall with 2,031 mm (80 inches).
Old Man Winter gave us a quick rest from the trend this last week, improving fruit quality and lowering the risk of NDF. But he’s not done yet!
The Meteorological Institute predicts lower temperatures will start the New Year for the Caribbean regions. However, we will start 2015 as we always do each week of the year – poised and ready to tackle the unwanted weather conditions ahead.
