·The onset of a moderate “El Nino” is predicted for early next year
·This lowers the probability of cold fronts rolling this far south and causing NDF events
·Quality remains at an excellent level

The Perfect Pineapple Production Report Week 49
· Almost daily showers accumulated 97.6 mm (3.8 inches) of rainfall
· Air and soil temperatures are very stable
· No cold fronts have been reported rolling into the region
· Quality of the fruit is outstanding, good brix and great external color
· Land preparation has halted due precipitation
· Enough inventory of land ready to plant until March 2019

The Perfect Pineapple Production Report Week 48
·After 3 consecutive weeks of dry weather, a more seasonal climatic comportment returns
·118.4 mm (4.7 inches) of rainfall accumulated during the week
·Farms continue to reduce harvest age: 79% @ 21 WAF; 13% @ 20 WAF and balance at 22 WAF
·We are also forcing plants slightly ahead of schedule to reduce inventory of plants exposed to NDF causing cold spells during the next few months.

·Precipitation was half of prior week, a few showers accumulated 39.5 mm (1.5 inches) of rainfall
·Air temperatures practically unchanged from prior week
·Quality of our fruit in terms of sweetness, flavor and aroma are at optimal levels
·Employees of unions of most government branches have returned to work as the movement’s support dwindles
·The uncertainty in port operations of the last month has led to ocean freight delays and service cancellations

·Increase in precipitation recorded this week – 54.5 mm (2.15 inches)
·Very stable harvest pattern continues
·Quality improvements are notable – improved sugar content, internal and external color
·Public employees continue strike into its fourth week
·Talks between parties continue stalled
·Courts have declared strike illegal so some employees are returning to work
·Ports operating almost normal, only delays caused by roadblocks
