· Optimal climatic conditions continue

· 29.1 mm (1.14 inches) of well distributed precipitation recorded

· Minimum air temperature @ 21.6°C ( 70.8°F)

· One evening with reported minimum below 20°C (68°F)

· Farms continue to increase harvest age

· NDF identification almost complete, a peak volume harvest predicted for weeks 18 to 21 harvest.

· Only one night with nighttime low temperatures at 20°C (68 °F)

· Focusing on “the art of fruit ripening” – due to changing internal and external fruit maturation pace – a result of favorable climate.

· A few late night showers brought 18.5 mm (.75 inches) of precipitation

· Slight increase in air and soil temperatures

· Minimum temperatures above 20°C (68 °F) = reduced threat of NDF event

· While land preparation may be interrupted, the rainfall was badly needed.

· Quality continues to be outstanding

· Both volume and demand on the rise in preparation for the Easter pull

· Increased precipitation during the week = the good news

· 62.1 mm ( 2.4 inches) of rainfall recorded

· Harvest age increase continues

· The majority of our crop harvested at 21 and 22 WAF

· The tally of NDF continues with the placement of color ribbons to identify age.

· The incidence of NDF is higher than anticipated possibly due to the stress of many nights with minimum temperatures below 20°C (68°F) and the long lasting drought

· NDF harvest to commence with limited volume week 18

· Light showers brought some relief to the water stressed plantations:

· 13.9 mm ( a little more than ½ inch) of precipitation recorded.

· The minimum temperatures rose to 22.1°C (72°F) decreasing concerns re NDF stress

· Quality continues to be outstanding.

· Farm efforts at increasing and maintaining external color are demonstrating good results

· Plantation shows a few early signs of water stress

· Weather forecast does call for some rain in the coming days

· Still having some nights with minimum temperatures at 68°F (20°C)

· Harvest age increase continues and helps to counter slower maturation process due climatic conditions

· Fruit quality remains outstanding

· Dry spell continues

· The forecast is for more of the same for a few more weeks

· Minimum temperatures continue to drop during the evenings

· Some nighttime temperatures down to 20°C (68°F) and even a few degrees below

· This could stress plants to flower naturally

· Farm increasing harvest age to maintain sugar content and internal quality at optimum levels
